Hi here everyone- nice looking new website. I was QM3 aboard USS Rainier (AE-5) from 1968 to 1970.. Rainier was commissioned in 1940 and was a former banana boat. She served in WW2, Korea and Vietnam, and was decommissioned in 1970. We rearmed carriers and NGFS ships off Vietnam. I ran a web site about the Rainier for thirty years or so up thru the mid 2000's. Learned a lot and met some great former AE sailors.
